David Booth, a forward for the Vancouver Canucks, is being lambasted for ethically and legally killing a black bear in Alberta earlier this spring. The hunt was filmed for a show on Wild TV, which is basically Canada’s version of the Outdoor Channel.

Read the article below and check out the video of the hunt. The comments from the anti-hunters (which would also seem to include the article’s author) are beyond ridiculous. It is perfectly legal (and customary) in most Canadian provinces for bears to be hunted over bait. Hunters know that Booth did nothing wrong or out of the ordinary. This would be a non-issue if he wasn’t a professional hockey player.

This is just another example of the media’s anti-hunting bias and ignorance, as well as yet another ploy by anti-hunters to take a legal hunting act and spin it into a moral atrocity.

Booth responded to the contrived hubbub with this Tweet: “You have every right not to watch just like I have the right to choose to hunt.”

I couldn’t agree with him more.
